Strategic priorities
The Geneva AI Summit 2027 is to be held on the theme of ‘Bridging Innovation and Trust’ with the focus set on two strategic priorities: AI as a driver of prosperity and progress for all and fostering trustworthy, responsible and safe use of AI.
Innovation and trust reinforce each other, responsible AI requires transparency and broad accessibility. Together, these priorities position Switzerland as both a global AI leader and a constructive bridge-builder in shaping AI's future.
Before Geneva 2027
From Bletchley Park (2023) to New Delhi (2026), the AI Summits have gradually broadened the debate -- covering security, action and impact -- towards inclusive global governance. Geneva, a hub of multilateralism and home to the ITU, will take over in 2027 to ensure this dialogue is sustained over the long term.

As part of the Road to Geneva, organisations and institutions from around the world are invited to hold independent pre-events that enrich the global dialogue ahead of the Summit. Registered pre-events will be published on the website.

All the necessary information is set out in the registration form. Once an application has been approved, the official Road to Geneva logo will be made available. Call for Inputs
A Call for Inputs will be launched in late 2026, inviting stakeholders to share their views on key themes relating to the global governance of AI ahead of the 2027 Geneva AI Summit.

Frequently asked questions
The Geneva AI Summit 2027 will be held from 21-22 June 2027 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland. The Summit will happen back-to-back with the ITU's AI for Good Global Summit.
The Summit will be organised under the lead and coordination of Fabiola Gianotti, the Delegate of the Federal Council for the Geneva AI Summit 2027. Preparatory work is being carried out under the lead of the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC), in close cooperation with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) as well as other federal agencies involved.
The Geneva AI Summit 2027 is to be held on the theme of ‘Bridging Innovation and Trust’ with the focus set on two strategic priorities and will follow two strategic priorities: ‘AI as a driver of prosperity and progress for all’ and ‘Fostering trustworthy, responsible and safe use of AI’.
Switzerland, with its spirit of constructive cooperation and with the potential of the ecosystem of International Geneva is committed to working together with all partners. Switzerland sees the AI Summit Series not as a substitute, but as a complement to other existing international processes and fora that work towards the same goals. Switzerland is also aiming to further develop the inclusivity and transparency of the AI Summit Series.
The Geneva Summit will be an inclusive Summit, ensuring participation across governments, academia, the private sector and civil society. Given the nature of the event, attendance will be carefully curated to ensure a focused and high-impact gathering.
The exact modalities for participation are currently being finalized and will be communicated in late 2026. Please note that capacity at the core Summit venue will be limited, and places will be allocated accordingly.

There are several ways to contribute to the Summit, including submitting pre-event and/or side event proposals, participating in the call for input, and taking part in open consultations.
Organizations and actors, including youth, interested in actively contributing to the AI Summit are invited to contact our Stakeholder Engagement focal point.
Response times may vary depending on the nature and volume of requests received. Given the strong interest in the Summit and the need to coordinate closely across multiple partners and stakeholders, some delays will occur.
Submissions are now open until early June 2027. Pre-Events can be registered directly on the Pre-Events page. The registration will stay open until one week before the core Summit.
A Call for Inputs will be launched on the website by the end of 2026 and will invite stakeholders to share perspectives on key themes and questions for global AI governance. The Call for Inputs will be instrumental in shaping the programme and discussions of the Geneva AI Summit 2027.

The currently estimated costs of the core summit amount to approximately CHF 6 million. The Swiss Confederation will cover around half of the total funding. The remaining funds will come from sponsorship revenue. To date, various sponsors from the private sector, civil society, academia and public administration have committed to providing additional funding.

The Geneva AI Summit 2027 is collaborating with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) on their AI for Good Global Summit exhibition space. While the AI for Good Global Summit takes place from 23-24 June at Palexpo, back-to-back with the AI Summit, their exhibition starts as of 21 June and runs in parallel to the Summit. Organizations that wish to have a booth can acquire exhibition space directly through the ITU.
